The spark that inspires me to paint can come from almost anywhere, ranging from nature, music, seeing a De Kooning, to something as mundane as torn posters on the weathered wall
of an obscure building. As an avid traveler, I am particularly inspired by the distant memories of the places I have visited.
With layers upon layers of deliberate and accidental marks, complex and simple spaces
in composition, application
and scraping off of paint, and embedded traces of failed experiments, my works are so relevant to the way of my being and a metaphor for my life –
full of chaos and calm, misjudgments and adjustments, exuberance and restraint.
